OBJECTIVE ANIMAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN. Wish to begin career in animal health field by preparing pharmaceuticals, conducting lab tests on blood/urine specimens, and performing general laboratory skills.

EXPERIENCE Worked for two summers at Villa Park Animal Hospital, Villa Park, transferring and returning animals from housing area to the working surface; correctly restraining the animal so there was minimum movement while administering injection; and assisting vet during surgical procedures done under general anesthetic. (2001-2002)

SPECIAL SKILLS General laboratory skills. Small animal care and maintenance. Entry-level proficiency in sample preparation, use of volumetric glassware, biochemical and media preparation, biohazards and use of electronic instruments.

The topics included animal care and handling, laboratory chemical analysis, parasitology, pharmacy and nutrition, preparation and administration of drugs, X-ray procedures, medical nursing, and emergency procedures.
